Nadine Altounji, a Montrealer of Syrian origin, takes us on a captivating musical journey, blending Afro-Peruvian and Syrian influences. Through her EPs *The Stories that Tie Us to Trees Vol.1* and *Enracinées dans l’Histoire Vol.2*, she merges her oud and guitar with the darbouka, cajón, as well as folk and pop nuances.
The title of her show and latest single, *Zayt el oud*, means "the oil of the oud." This metaphor symbolizes the music extracted from her oud, like olive oil, and pays homage to her Levantine roots.
